It’s taken them long enough, but Sony Interactive Entertainment has finally announced a PlayStation Showcase for September 9, giving us a long-waited look at what the company has for the rest of the year and beyond.
I say finally, because many of us have been waiting for Sony to offer major update on its plans for most of the summer. They skipped E3 and didn’t really have much to show off at GamesCom apart from third-party studios, and with Horizon Forbidden West delayed, they need to step up a bit at this point.
Anyway, the good news is that the PlayStation Showcase will offer updates on a bunch of PS5 games from PlayStation Studios and smaller developers alike, although we won’t see anything on PSVR 2. That’s probably not too surprising, though.

Sony’s PlayStation Blog post confirms that the showcase will last for around 40 minutes, and will take place at 1.00pm PST/9.00pm BST.
The Showcase will weigh in at around 40 minutes and include updates from PlayStation Studios and some of the industry’s most imaginative developers, for games releasing this holiday and beyond. And stick around after the presentation to get more updates from some of the studio teams featured in the Showcase.
