The producer behind the upcoming Xbox One-exclusive Quantum Break believes that PlayStation VR can provide a major push for virtual reality gaming, provided Sony offers a more consumer-friendly price than competing device, Oculus Rift.
While not expecting virtual reality technology to attract a huge market, Remedy’s Lennie Hakola does believe Sony’s upcoming PS4 headset, which is due to launch in the first half of 2016, will help drive VR gaming—provided the price is right.
You can check out Hakola’s thoughts on the matter below via his Twitter musings.
…and I personally don’t believe VR will hit a massive market either, but I was wrong about the Wii as well, so who knows.

@A3rnout If they can provide a more consumer-friendly price tag than OR I believe that’d be a total game changer.

Oculus Rift was officially priced at $599.99, with the device scheduled to begin shipping to retailers in March. Sony has yet to announce a price point for PlayStation VR, although it has said that headset will likely be positioned at a similar cost to a new gaming console. In other words, expect to pay at least a couple of hundred dollars for the device.
Sony said earlier this week that over 100 titles are currently in the pipeline for PlayStation VR, including the likes of Tekken 7, Gran Turismo Sport, Ace Combat 7, Dreams, and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. SuperDataResearch expects the device to sell around 1.9 million units this year, although PS VR is also forecast to hold the lowest market share of any virtual reality gaming tech. The same firm also expects Sony’s headset to cost around $400-600.
PS VR was originally known under the working title of Project Morpheus.
