According to Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, the long-rumoured September 2024 State Of Play stream from PlayStation is set for next Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
Grubb made the claim, as he does with many of these reports, during his Games Mess Morning show where he said that it is “almost certainly happening on the 24th.”
It came up in discussion when Grubb and his co-host Lucy James began talking about the ESRB rating for the Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster that’s now given extra validity to the previously rumoured remaster.
“This thing [HZD Remaster] is probably happening, we’ve been hearing about it for quite actually some time. It could be announced at the next State Of Play that is probably coming up on the 24th, almost certainly happening on the 24th. I don’t know if this will definitely be in there but it seems to make sense, seems to be lining up,” Grubb said.

Grubb has talked about a State Of Play event happening this month before, calling his shot just before the month began. This time though, he’s actually laid down a date.
The thing is, he’s probably not wrong. Beyond the fact that Grubb does have a reputation for getting these kinds of things right, we’ve had a State Of Play event happen in September for the last two years.
There’s not much of September left, so if it doesn’t happen next week then it’s probably not happening in September. The other reason it’ll likely be happening next week is that if it does arrive on the 24th, that sets up PlayStation perfectly to have things to show at Tokyo Game Show, which begins just two days later on September 26, 2024.
