Pragmata Director Is Up For Making A Sequel, But Stresses The Decision Is Not Down To Him

Yonghee Cho and Naoto Oyama, who serve as director and producer, respectively, on Capcom’s Pragmata, have touched base on a possible sequel to the sci-fi outing, with Cho openly stating he’d be up for for it but noted the decision isn’t simply down to him.

Speaking with GamesRadar, the duo were asked about working on a Pragmata sequel, following news that the game has sold over two million copies in just 16 days.

I honestly don’t know what the future holds. Like you said, it’s only been a month since Pragmata went on sale, so honestly, what I’m focused on is just trying to get as many people to experience Pragmata as I can. I’m focused on Pragmata itself,” offered Oyama-san. However, Cho was a bit more open about a sequel in his response.

Of course I’d love to see a sequel. But I’m not the only one who decides, so unfortunately I can’t really comment beyond that,” noting that this was simply his “own personal opinion on the matter.

Pragmata was released in April 2026 for the PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. You can read our full review here.

Pragmata follows Hugh Williams and Diana, and android companion, as they navigate a lunar world ruled by artificial intelligence. The game’s combat loop is particularly unique, a players cannot simply shoot foes to defeat them; Diana must first hack enemies and expose their weakness before Hugh can damage them with conventional weaponry. The bond between the pair is also the beating heart of the narrative, as Hugh and Diana must rely on each other while exploring the world.
