Prey 2 dev is ‘proud’ of its work on now-cancelled sequel

The former developer behind Prey 2 has expressed its disappointment over the game’s cancellation, but said it remains “proud” of the work it had achieved with the sequel.

Speaking in a statement issued to PSU via email, Tim Gerritsen, Business Development Director at Human Head Studios, commented:

We can confirm that Human Head Studios has not been involved with Prey 2 for some time.  While we are disappointed that we won’t be able to deliver our vision of the game, we remain proud of our work on the franchise, which we feel speaks for itself, including the award-winning presentation of the game at E3 2011.  We enjoyed working with the many talented people at Bethesda, and we wish them all the best of luck with any future plans they may have for the franchise.”

Publisher Bethesda confirmed on Friday that Prey 2 had been cancelled after a long period of silence on the project.

Despite this, rumors have persisted that the game is in fact still in the works at Arkane Studios, the developer behind the critically acclaimed Dishonored.
