Primal Carnage: Extinction dinosaur vs human shooter jumps onto PS4

Indie Studio Panic Button has announced that its class-based, dinosaur vs human shooter, Primal Carnage: Extinction, will be released on PS4 by the end of the year.

Currently available for PC, Primal Carnage: Extinction sees players exploring a remote island taking down dozens of predatory dinosaurs from swooping Pterandon’s to the big boss himself, the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Players get to choose from five classes and a diverse arsenal, with further equipment and weapons unlockable during the game.

There are also 10 playable dinosaurs, which are also split up into classes and have their own unique abilities.

Though you can play Primal Carnage: Extinction solo, gameplay is multiplayer focused with the likes of Team Deatchmatch, a team-based Rescue Mode and the objective-based Get To The Chopper. There’s also a survival co-op mode.

“We’re excited to announce PS4 is the first console to get the Primal Carnage treatment,” said Adam Creighton, Studio GM and Director of Development for Panic Button, in a press release.

“We’ve been fans of what the Primal team has been doing for a while. When the chance came for us to partner on the franchise to move it forward to other platforms, we jumped on it.”
