The PlayStation Network will be updated next week to bring in the next batch of free PlayStation Plus games for subscribers. Among the free PS4 games and PS3 and Vita titles this week are a quirky adventure, a crazy platformer, and a rock-hard puzzler.
Full line-up of PS Plus free games for October 2015
Broken Age – PS4, Vita
Double Fine’s critically acclaimed adventure adopts a hand-animated art-style and includes an impressive voice cast with the likes of Elijah Wood, Jack Black and Jennifer Hale lending their personalities to its cast of colourful characters. This Kickstarter-funded game is a point-and-click adventure about a boy who is trapped in an automated space ship. It’s surreal, witty and received rave reviews on its release earlier this year.

Super Meat Boy – PS4, Vita
The highly acclaimed twitch platformer finally makes the leap to PS4 and Vita next week, and it’s totally free if you’ve signed up to PlayStation Plus. Developed by Team Meat, it was initially released on Xbox 360 in 2010.
In Super Meat Boy, players take control of a cube-shaped character as he attempts to free his girlfriend from the grips of the horribly-named Dr. Fetus. There’s over 300 platform-based levels which require players to run, jump and slide avoiding grisly obstacles in order to complete each stage and reach some tough boss battles.
Reviews of Super Meat Boy, from its time on PC and Xbox 360, suggest it’s one of the best indie platformers of recent years.We’ll see!
Unmechanical Extended – PS4/PS3
Grip Games’ puzzle-based adventure takes place in an underground complex that requires logical thinking to traverse. You play as a robot and have to explore the gameworld solving puzzles as you unlock clues that bring you ever closer to uncovering some dark events.

Kickbeat – PS4/PS3
Zen Studios’ Kickbeat is a martial arts-themed fighting game that takes the rhythm-based approach. You press buttons on your controller that correspond with the beats on screen to dispatch enemies in a rather unique way. It’s kinda cool…kinda.
Chariot – PS3
Frima Studio is the brains behind this couch co-op, physics-based platformer which features a brave princess, her suitor and a funeral wagon. The idea is to traverse through caves seeing off enemies in order to reach the end goal of reaching the King’s tomb and burying him a mass of gold.
You may also want to make a mental note that the Driveclub PS Plus Edition won’t be available for free for subscribers from October 6, 2015 onwards. So, if you want it, get downloading now. Why is it being taking away? Well, dare we say that Driveclub could be being primed in full as a free PS Plus game for November?
