Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it will be dropping a new PS Portal update tomorrow that will bring support to sign-in for select public Wi-Fi networks.
Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, the format holder noted that while it recommends using the device in your home where you have control over your connection quality, it can also be used outside providing there’s a stable Wi-Fi experience. As such, this update provides the chance to connect to those hubs that may require additional validation, including sign-in screens in hotels, cafes and airports.
Elsewhere, the new PS Portal update will include visual feedback to the touch pad areas, while the remaining battery level percentage can be displayed on the status bar in the top right hand corner of the screen.
