Today, yet another video streaming service has hit PS3. Revealed on the PlayStation Blog, the Redbox Instant by Verizon app will bring over thousands of streaming movies and will allow users to reserve new-release DVDs and Blu-ray movies to pick up at any Redbox kiosk.
Like Netflix, Redbox Instant by Verizon will cost $8 a month to instantly stream movies right to your PS3. The subscription will also net you four DVD rentals at Redbox kiosks each month. Users will also have the option to purchase or rent any digital releases without the need of the $8 subscription.
Redbox Instant by Verizon will also introduce The Playlist exclusively for PlayStation users. The Playlist will update frequently with themes such as "Stuff Blowing Up," "Movies With Balls," and "Beards On Film."
Users who wish to download the app can gain access to The Playlist free for one month at www.redboxinstant.com/ps3.
The Redbox Instant by Verizon app is available now on the North American PlayStation Store.
