According to Twitter user @DoesItPlay1, Sony Interactive Entertainment is apparently looking into the CMOS issue that has come to the attention of PS4 and PS5 players.
In case you’ve been living under a rock the past few weeks, it was recently discovered that the PS4 internal clock battery can cause some serious hiccups should it run out of juice, as gamers will not be able to play any games offline. The battery is featured in the PS Vita, PS3 PS4 and PS5.
Things do seem to be a little less serious on the PS5, as the console has been found to play a select number of physical games even if the battery is removed.
As previously reported, the battery itself can be replaced, although it does require to open up your console.

If these reports are indeed the real deal, then Sony will hopefully deliver a fix for the problem in the near future.
