Can You Get A PS4 CMOS Battery Replacement?
Before you think about opening up your PS4 and replacing the battery yourself, it’s worth pointing out that Sony may address the problem via a firmware update in the future. Also, it’s unlikely to die just yet, so don’t panic!
Anyway, yes, the PS4 CMOS battery can be replaced, but it involves opening up your console and fiddling around with its delicate innards – something which we do not recommend doing unless you know what you’re doing.
The PS4 uses a small, coin-sized battery known as a CR2032 battery. They are very common and fortunately do not require any soldering on your part. You can get more on the process here, but again, we don’t recommend doing this as Sony could still patch the problem.
