Remember news that the PS4 clock battery can die, meaning you’ll lose access to your digital games? Well, Twitter user Forest_Reviews has decided to test it out by completing remove the battery from the equation, and the results are clear: all your digital and physical games will not work offline.

The issue was originally flagged up when users reported PS4 Error CE 34878-0, and is related to the fact Trophies require the PS4 clock to be accurate. If this function is not working, then it access to your games will also cease.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t paint a rosy picture for when PS4 batteries start to die off in the next couple of years, as when they do, it will mean users won’t be able to play their games offline. Folk on Twitter in response to Forest’s post are understandably a little miffed at the prospect.
