PS4 and Xbox One have sold over 3 million units in the U.K.

U.K. retailer GAME has announced that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have sold a combined total of over three million units in the country.

Speaking in its latest financial report, the company revealed that both formats achieved the milestone in January 2015, tracking “significantly ahead” of expectations.

PS4 was the first to hit the one million milestone back in September 2014, with Xbox One achieving the sales barrier two months later.

However, it isn’t known exactly how many units each console has sold individually.

Sony announced earlier this year that it has sold over 20 million units worldwide since the system’s launch in November 2013. Xbox One shipped almost 10 million as of November last year, though Microsoft hasn’t divulged any further sales data at this point.

Regardless, Sony’s console is believed to be outselling its leading rival by a significant margin on a global basis.
