Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) is planning to release a new PlayStation 4 bundle, according to a listing on Amazon France.
The bundle in question forms part of the Ultimate Player Edition series, and includes a 1TB PS4 console, plus a copy of Grand Theft Auto V and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Both games were heavily featured in various PS4 bundles in the past, particularly over the Black Friday weekend.
In fact, the PS4 & Uncharted Collection bundle proved highly successful at Best Buy during the Black Friday sales, becoming the retailer’s biggest earner over the lucrative shopping period. Sony also said the Black Friday 2015 period was the best in the company’s entire history in terms of sales.
Right now the bundle is only available in France, and it is unknown if it will go on sale in other parts of Europe, or indeed North America. Right now, gamers in the U.S. only have one 1TB PS4 option, which includes a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Limited Edition.
PS4 has sold nearly 36 million consoles worldwide since its launch in November 2013, putting it comfortably ahead of Xbox One. While Microsoft has not divulged exact figures for its latest home console, it is rumored to have moved in the region of 18 million since release. PS4 has enjoyed such a significant lead over its rival that even Microsoft has admitted it may not be able to catch up to PS4 going forward.
Sony is gearing up for a massive year for the PS4, with a number of exclusives lined up for release, including Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, The Last Guardian, Ratchet & Clank, No Man’s Sky, and Gran Turismo Sport. It will also launch its virtual reality gaming device, PlayStation Now, in the first half of 2016, with over 100 games in production for the headset.
