PS4 is ‘amazing,’ says Uncharted’s Nolan North

Nolan North, the voice behind Uncharted’s Nathan Drake, has given the stamp of approval to PlayStation 4, declaring it ‘an amazing machine.’

Speaking with GamerHub.TV, North – who has voiced cheeky chappie Drake since the original Uncharted in 2007 – declared Sony’s next-generation games console is going to push the boundaries of cinematic gaming even further.

Asked what he thinks PS4 would add to a new Uncharted title, the ubiquitous voice actor replied:

“I’ve seen some of the PS4 prototypes. I know a lot of the developers I’m working for use the PS4. It’s an amazing machine. I think it’s going to step up the game for every game whether it’s Uncharted, God of War, Call of Duty. All of these games are going to benefit from the technology that they’re putting out.

He added: “When we think we’ve reached the pinnacle of what a game could look like, some genius somewhere makes it a little bit better and opens up the opportunity to make a game even more cinematic, more of an experience. I think the PS4 is going to be pretty amazing, it’s going to push those boundaries even further.”

North said that the footage he’s seen in action so far had him doubting if it was real gameplay or not.

“I’ve seen some gameplay testing on PS4, I don’t remember what game it was, and I couldn’t believe it was gameplay. It’s extraordinary technology.”

The Uncharted series ran for three core games on PS3 as well as a PlayStation Vita adventure. While a new title hasn’t been announced yet, it is widely believed that we haven’t seen the last of Nathan Drake and chums just yet.
