According to a report by market intelligence company, Ico Partners, PS4 news chat and articles were the most written about topics in the video games industry in 2014.
The graph below shows that 400,751 PS4 articles were published compared to 301,132 for Xbox One. The PlayStation brand (which includes PS4 and PS4) was written about 560,573 times compared to 411,380 for Xbox One and Xbox 360.
The most talked about games were Titanfall, Minecraft, Destiny, Assassin’s Creed Unity and Grand Theft Auto V. The data does not include every website that wrote about gaming topics in 2014, but the statistics were pulled from over 3,500 sources. It’s worth noting that stats from Nintendo article were not included in the final report.
What does all this mean?
Well, it simply means that either there was more news to write about PlayStation in 2014, or media outlets deemed PS4 and PS3 more worthy of headlines than Xbox One and Xbox 360. Wonder if they took PSU into consideration in this report?
