PS4 outsold by Xbox One in U.S. for ‘past two weeks’

Microsoft has claimed that the Xbox One has been outselling PlayStation 4 in the U.S. for “the past two weeks.”

The console manufacturer’s statement comes following news that 10 million Xbox One units have been shipped to retailers worldwide. Microsoft recently chopped $50 off the price for the system, which runs until January.

PS4, of course, has been outselling Xbox One overall since both platforms launched in November 2013. Sony announced late last month that sales for the system now stand at 13.5 million globally, after the company moved 3.3 million between July-September.

Sony has been top dog in regards to NPD figures for next-gen system since PS4’s release, a strike contrast to the situation with PS3 and Xbox 360, where Microsoft’s machine frequently outpaced its lead rival.

PS4 has a number of high-profile titles lined up for release next year, including Bloodborne and The Order: 1886.
