During Sony’s PlayStation Meeting back in February, one of the key features shared about PlayStation 4 was its ability to play games as you download them. So far, Sony has yet to reveal much information on how this functionality works. Thanks to a new developer diary released today, we know how Killzone: Shadow Fall will be able to do this.
“You can play it while it’s downloading,” states Guerilla Games’ technical director Michiel van der Leeuw. “You’re going to download a chunk of the game, you get the menu and the first level and while you’re playing the first level it downloads the second level in the background.”
Killzone: Shadow Fall was one of our first looks into the next generation of gaming on PlayStation 4, and its debut is eagerly awaited. Set as a PS4 launch title, Killzone: Shadow Fall’s release date is still unknown.
