PS4 power impresses Killer is Dead creator Suda51

The CEO of Lollipop Chainsaw developer Grasshopper Manufacture has heaped praise on the processing power of Sony’s PlayStation 4.

Speaking during an interview with Famitsu (via Siliconera), Goichi Suda outlined speed as the most impressive aspect of the new console, when quizzed out of a possible ‘speed,’ ‘social’ or ‘service.’

“The most impressive one to me so far has got to be ‘speed’," said Suda-san. "As a video game console, that’s the part the stood out to me the most for the PlayStation 4. We make games, so we want to make them fun, and we also put a lot of effort into making them as appealing as possible. In order to do that, we need hardware that can show ‘speed’."

"When it comes to making games, having this ‘speed’ available as an ingredient really puts us at ease. Even as we currently develop, we can really feel the response of having it available."

Suda51’s enthusiasm for PS4 should hardly come as a surprise. After all, the developer said shortly after the console’s reveal that he was ‘horny’ for Sony’s new platform.

Grasshopper has calved out a niche for producing violent, idiosyncratic titles such as the cult hit Killer7, to more recent endeavors like Lollipop Chainsaw and Killer is Dead.

Suda-san and his team is currently working on Lily Bergamo, a “super action game” for PS4. The game was recently trademarked in the U.S., so we should see a release in the west at some point.
