We’re all getting a little bit hyped for the new PS4 Pro Boost mode which is coming in update 4.5. It’s currently in beta, with no set launch date planned, but already we’ve seen tons of PS4 Pro games that are set to benefit from the update.
PS4 update 4.5 will basically improve game performance on titles that haven’t even had a specific PS4 Pro patch. We’re talking improved frame-rates and visuals. In summary: Boost Mode lets PS4 Pro run at a higher GPU and CPU clock speed for smoother gameplay on some PS4 games that were released before the launch of PS4 Pro.
In the latest PS4 Pro Boost Mode video we see the update in action with The Evil Within, with a comparison video that shows the difference between the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions following the patch.
It was initially reported across the web that Boost Mode wouldn’t really improve older PS4 games, but we’re already discovered that it’s significantly enhancing some games, and we’re building up a list of those PS4 Pro Boost Mode games where you can really see a difference.
