Sony is poised to announce the release date for PlayStation 4 at Gamescom, according to a recent post on the company’s U.K. website.
Said the firm: “We’ll kick off the show at 18.00 BST on 20 August 2013 with a briefing to media on our release plans for PlayStation 4, as well as updates on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.”
This indeed appears to confirm that Sony will finally confirm when we’ll be able to get our mitts on its next-generation console at the Cologne-based event.
The console maker previously confirmed a holiday 2013 launch window for the new machine, but hasn’t yet committed beyond that.
