According to a report on ThisGenGaming, Sony’s PlayStation 4 Slim suffers from a noticeable overheating issue.
While the console has yet to even see an official announcement from the console maker, the PS4 Slim has already made it into the wild via U.K. website Gumtree, before later ending up on the likes of eBay and CEX.
However, one user who has gotten their mitts on the system raised some alarming details. Chiefly, the PS4 Slim appears to overheat easily, with the console being hot to touch after just five minutes.

Shockingly, the user then reported he could detect a burning smell emanating from the PS4 Slim not long after, forcing him to shut the console off. Upon examination of the system, it appears there isn’t much in the way of air flowing through the machine.
PS4 Slim release date
Sony is expected to announce the PS4 Slim during its PlayStation Meeting in New York City tomorrow morning. The console is reportedly scheduled to ship worldwide on September 14. The console also ships with a new DualShock 4 controller featuring a new lightbar on the touchpad.
In addition to the PS4 Slim, Sony is also poised to announce the PS4 Neo, a high-end version of its flagship console capable of playing games with improved visual fidelity. The system was announced by Sony a week before E3, though was not present at the Los Angeles trade show.
