Sony Interactive Entertainment has released PS4 system update 13.52 for users to download, although at this point in the console’s lifecycle you probably won’t be surprised to learn what it does.
Regardless, here’s the official PS4 firmware 13.52 patch notes:
- We’ve made some security fixes to the system software.
Sony typically releases basic stability fixes for its older platforms even after they’ve been on the market for more than a decade. For example, the PS3 saw a new firmware released earlier this year, and that console turns 20-years-old in November.
The PS4 was released in November 2013 in the US and Europe, with the Japanese release arriving in early 2014. The system comfortable outsold the PS3, although it didn’t quite reach the commercial heights of the PS2, which remains Sony’s best-selling home console to date. The PS4 received a mid-cycle refresh in the form of the PS4 Pro, and a number of its games have been remastered for the PS5 with extra bells and whistles (The Last of Us, The Last of Us Part 2, Days Gone among the highlights).
