PlayStation 4 was the top-selling video games console in North America for July 2015, the NPD Group has announced.
Exact sales figures have not been revealed at this point, though speaking in a statement provided to PSU, Sony confirmed that the Batman: Arkham Knight bundle is continuing to pull in impressive numbers:
“We are truly humbled by the success of the PS4 and we would like to thank gamers for making it the top selling console and #1 in software sales in the United States in July. The Batman Arkham Knight PS4 bundle continues to be a top seller and we are looking forward to delighting fans next month with the launch of the Limited Edition Destiny: The Taken King PS4 bundle on September 15.”
Sony has enjoyed a rather impressive summer so far, with its E3 2015 showcase widely praised by critics and gamers alike, while PS4 has managed to outsell the Xbox One in June and May. It’s also outsold Microsoft’s console every month in the U.K. so far this year.
Furthermore, the console has now shipped over 25 million units worldwide putting it comfortably in the lead.
