U.K. retail giant John Lewis has said it expects the Xbox One to triumph in the sales battle against PlayStation 4 this holiday season in the country.
Jonathan Marsh, the head technology buyer for the retailer, said that Microsoft’s machine will outsell its competitor on the back of a stronger games line-up.
“We are expecting more interest in the Xbox One,” said Marsh, during an interview with Trusted Reviews “We are stocking both the PS4 and the Xbox One but if we were to back one, we are thinking that Xbox One will appeal a bit more to our customers in terms of the experience it creates.”
Marsh went on to highlight Xbox LIVE and the Xbox One’s software line-up as areas that are likely to sway things in Microsoft’s favor this Christmas. The games line-up in particular he feels will generate considerable interest among consumers, “based on what we’ve experienced in the past.”
PS4 is due out in the U.K. and Europe on November 29 and in North America on November 15. Xbox One arrives in both territories on November 22.
