Mike Moreton, lead designer on DiRT 5, has said that the disparity between the PS5 and Xbox Series X GPU ‘doesn’t really have an impact’ from a development point of view.
DiRT 5 Dev Talks PS5 And Xbox Series X GPU Difference
Speaking with GamingBolt, Moreton was quizzed if the difference between the PS5 and Xbox Series X GPU makes any impact from a development point of view, to which he replied:
From development and gameplay perspectives, it doesn’t really have an impact. When it comes to tuning, tweaking and optimizations at the end of a game, it might mean slightly less work for one platform.
In case you’re not keeping up wit the technical innards of both consoles, Sony’s next-generation console is packing a 10.28 teraflops GPU, while Microsoft’s is equipped with a 12 teraflops of GPU power.
Codemasters obviously has plenty of experience working with both consoles, as DiRT 5 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X in addition to current-generation platforms.
