PS5 And Xbox Series X/S Sales Reportedly Outpacing PS4 And Xbox One During Same Time Period

The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are off to a solid start according to GI.biz‘s Christopher Dring, who has revealed that the new consoles from Sony and Microsoft are both selling more than the PS4 and Xbox One achieved during the same time period when they launched.

Sony and Microsoft’s latest consoles were released in the US and UK in November 2020, although PS5 had a slightly staggered release compared to the Xbox Series X/S. He also revealed an interesting nugget about PS4 and Xbox One sales, as seen below.

More PS5s and Xbox Series consoles were sold compared to PS4s and Xbox Ones over the same period when they launched. It’s pretty impressive. Also, Xbox One and PS4 combined have not sold a couple of hundred million.

The PS5 quickly sold out following its November launch, and has been increasingly more difficult to get hold of. However, it is expected that retailers will receive fresh stock very soon.
