If you’re one of those gamers that pines for special editions of consoles – be it the conservative or outlandish (lord knows there’s plenty of examples) – you’ll be happy to know that this won’t change for PS5, and to go one step further the console will be “customizable in ways previous gens weren’t”.
Speaking on LinkedIn, VP of UX Design at PlayStation, Matt MacLaurin, made the comments in response to a query from a fellow user asking about the potential of a matte black finish for the upcoming console.
And though the idea of special editions is a staple for consoles – especially in conjunction with big releases – the curious aspect of MacLaurin’s comments come from the fact that it seems as if we can expect PS5 to be cosmetically customizable in some form or another.
