PlayStation games can now be streamed own Steam Deck and Steam Machine without a PS5 thanks to the Asobi: Remote Play app, which has just entered public testing
While the software supports standard PS4 & PS5 Remote Play features, the biggest advantage here is that PlayStation Plus cloud streaming is possible without an actual PS5 being part of the equation. All you need is a PlayStation Network account and an active PS Plus Premium membership to get going. As a result, you can stream titles supported by the PS Plus catalog as well as any PS5 digital games you own that are streaming-supported.
Back in November 2025, Sony released a new update for PS Portal that added support for cloud streaming for select PS5 games from your digital library. Beyond that, the patch also added compatibility for 3D audio on the PS Portal while using a headset, as well as allowing you to make purchases while playing a streaming title.
Asobi’s app supports up to 1080p at 30 FPS in ASDR with automatic pirate adjustment, while the premium iteration bumps things up to 60 FPS at 1080p, HDR, manual bitrate control, low-latency modes, controller haptics and upscaling to 4K resolution.
