PlayStation Direct has opened up orders for the first batch of official PS5 covers including the Midnight Black and Cosmic Red variations.
Both covers will set you back £44.99 and will go on general release in February, but if you don’t mind ordering them through PlayStation Direct, you can get them now. Their release follows on the back of the new selection of DualSense controllers from Sony, including the Galactic Purple version of the pad.
Up until now only third-party companies had offered PS5 covers for sale, although Sony has now jumped on the bandwagon to produce official covers of its own.
Around this time last year, one manufacturer of PS5 faceplates announced its third incarnation after running into legal trouble with Sony.

The PS5 was released in November 2020 in the US, UK, Europe, and other major territories, although it’s still not readily available due to ongoing supply shortages.
