Is PS5 At End Of Life? The PS5 launched in November 2020, and there’s been a lot of chatter recently regarding the PS5 life cycle and how long it will last. Looking back, the PS3 and PS4 were both on the market for around seven years, although there was a time when consoles would usually last around four or five years before a successor was announced. PS3, for example, was unveiled five years after its predecessor launched. So, what can we expect from Sony’s latest console and when the PS5 end of life will come about?

The PS5 is currently approaching the half-way point in its lifecycle. Sony described earlier this week that the console going forward is entering the ‘latter stages of its life cycle.’ At the time of writing, PS5 is not even three-and-a-half years old, and we can expect it to be around for about seven or eight years. So, we’re almost at the half-way point. As such, we should not expect the PS6 release until around 2028 at the earliest. This ties in with what Microsoft expects in regards to the arrival of next-gen consoles.
