PS5 Has Shipped 13.4 Million Units Worldwide, Sony Confirms

Speaking during its Q2 financial results for FY21, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that life-to-date shipments for the PS5 have reached 13.4 million worldwide.

Sony’s latest home console moved an additional 3.3 million units during the latest fiscal quarter, which is impressive considering the fact PS5 is still not readily available due to ongoing stock shortages.

Elsewhere, Sony revealed that it has moved 76.4 million units of software, with 7.6 million 1st party games moved.

The PS5 launched in November 2020 in the US, UK, Europe, and other major regions, and went on to become the fastest-selling PlayStation console of all time in the UK, reaching one million sales in 39 weeks.

Sony has a packed 2022 in regards to exclusive content, with the likes of Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War all due for release on PS5 and PS4.
