Sony Interactive Entertainment said during a business webcast this week that it expects PS5 to be ahead of its predecessor on all key metrics by the end of the fiscal year 2023.
The format holder announced during its latest financial call recently that the PS5 has now shipped over 38 million units worldwide. The console has been seeing a massive increase in stock availability since the beginning of the year, as the shortages that have plagued the system since launch are now a thing of the past.

Sony also revealed during its latest business webcast that the PSVR 2 has gotten off to a solid start, having sold 600,000 units during its first week on sale. In addition, the hardware manufacturer is reportedly looking to expand its entertainment business by aggressively pursing new merges and acquisitions for PlayStation Studios.
