The Last of Us HBO’s third season has cast Laura Bailey as the leader of the Seraphites, having previously portrayed the role of Abby Anderson in The Last of Us: Part 2.
The news was confirmed on Naughty Dog’s annual Outbreak Day, September 26, which is when the Cordyceps outbreak took place during The Last of Us. Joining Bailey will be John Goodman, who is playing an original character named Joey, while Ian Alexander will play Paco; both characters are described as a “friendly duo who dub themselves Heroes of the Highway.” Alexander had previously appeared in The Last of Us: Part II as Lev.
Back in June it was revealed that Peter Sarsgaard had been cast in Season 3 of The Last of Us as Amon, one the leaders of the Seraphites who didn’t appear in the games. In February this year it was revealed that Clea DuVall and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. had both been cast in The Last of Us Season 3, with DuVall taking on the role of a member of the Seraphites and Lendeborg. Jr replacing Danny Ramirez as Manny, a member of the WLF.
Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann revealed in July 2025 that he had stepped away from his creative involvement in The Last Of Us HBO, instead deciding to focus on the developer’s upcoming video game projects.
