It’s been seven years since the release of the PS4, but today, Sony Interactive Entertainment launched its long-awaited successor, PS5, in the US and Japan – and marked the occasion in style.
While the coronavirus pandemic has blocked any possibility of a major public launch, the hardware giant instead put on a huge light show at its headquarters in San Mateo to celebrated the PS5 release.

The PS5 is due…oh wait, what’s the point? You know bloody well the console is out today in the US, because you’ve probably got one sitting in your room right now. If not, hopefully your console is on its way right now.
UK and European gamers will have to wait a little longer, with the console due out on November 19 in those regions.
