PS5 Shipments Have Reached 21.7 Million Worldwide

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced during its latest quarterly earnings report overnight that PS5 shipments have surpassed 21.7 million globally.

The company’s flagship home console move 2.4 million units during the three-month period ended June 30, 2022. This represents a 0.1 million leap year-on-year, and also 0.4 million up on the previous quarter.

However, Sony posted a decline in the number of software units sold and PlayStation Plus monthly active users. PS4 and PS5 game sales hit 47.1 million during the quarter, which was a noticeable dip on the 63.6 million shifted during the same period last year.

In addition, PS Plus members hit 47.3 million, which while an increase on the 46.3 million year-on-year, was down on the 47.4 million recorded during the quarter ended March 31, 2022.

Meanwhile, PlayStation Network monthly active users dipped to 102 million compared to the 106 million recorded in the previous quarter, and 105 million during the same period last year.
