Twitter has revealed that the platform has reached out to PlayStation to explore new integrations following support for the social networking site on PS5 & PS4 went down earlier this week.
Previously, Twitter/X boss Elon Must revealed that he would ‘look into’ why the social media platform was being removed from PlayStation consoles, as well as Xbox, although in Microsoft’s case Twitter support was removed much earlier in the year. Now, the account XDeveloper has revealed the following:
To clarify, this is a legacy integration. We’ve reached out to explore new integrations including live-streaming. Stay tuned!
In case you missed it, Sony’s official statement on Twitter support removal is as follows:
As of November 13, 2023, integration with X…will no longer function on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles. This includes the ability to view any content published on X on PS5/PS4, and the ability to post and view content, trophies, and other gameplay-related activities on X directly from PS5/PS4 (or link an X account to do so).
