PS5 SSD Vs Xbox Series X SSD

The PlayStation 5 will “far” outsell the Xbox Series X according to industry analyst Piers Harding-Rolls who works for agency Ampere.

In his statement as transcribed by GI.Biz, Harding-Rolls remarks that growth for this next console generation will be slower and that by the end of 2024, Sony and Microsoft’s combined sales will equal 103 million, compared to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One’s combined sale of 109 million during a similar timeframe.

Citing PlayStation’s current global lead, deep exclusive content offering and strong brand loyalty, Harding-Rolls believes that Sony’s grip on the industry will be “hard to dismantle”, resulting in the platform holder selling some 66 million PlayStation 5’s by the end of the 2024 sales period compared to Microsoft who is tipped to sell around 37 million consoles in comparison.

Further afield, Harding-Rolls also feels that neither console will come in above $500, and that each of them will look for some economic wiggle room between $450 and $500 when it comes to price point.

Sony is set to give the world a first look at some of the titles it intends to release for PlayStation 5 later today with its PS5 games showcase.
