UPDATE 1 (9.05pm BST) – Sony official statement – PSN is currently offline, and we are hard at work to resume service. At this time an estimate as to when PSN will be online is unavailable.
Original story
The PlayStation Network, or at least some of its features, are offline again. This seems to be affecting only those who have tried to sign in over the last hour or so. If you were already logged in online before then, you’re probably fine.

This is becoming a fairly regular post on PSU over recent weeks, and once again we can confirm that this is definintely unplanned. There has been no official word about maintenance today, with Sony having carried out some form of update on Monday, so we can only assume there’s some underlying issue that still hasn’t been ironed out. Could this be Firmware update 2.0? It’s a possibility, but surely we would have been told.
Users are reporting the inability to log into certain online games, including Destiny, as well as not being to access their PSN friends list, PlayStation Store and account management options.
We’re sounding like a broken record here, but we’ll keep you up-to-date as soon as we hear anything.
