PSN down, and UPlay, For Honor and Rainbow Six Siege: updates

psn down

[UPDATE] Sony reports that services have resumed and the PSN is now accessible, though UPlay may still be affected. If you’re still having problems getting online then let us know.

The PlayStation Network is currently offline affecting access to services such as the PlayStation Store.

Reports starting flooding in from users around 5pm GMT. Though some multiplayer games are still accessible, services such as Ubisoft’s UPlay server, which affects those playing the For Honor beta and Rainbow Six Siege are also offline.

"We’re aware of current connection issues impacting various online services. This is being actively investigated," said the official AskPlayStation twitter account.

The official PSN server status page suggests that it’s scheduled maintenance, yet the date (1/02/2017) is incorrect, and it’s only supposed to be down for an hour.

The site states:

"Routine maintenance and improvements for PlayStation Network will be performed for approximately 1 hour from 01/02/2017, 02:30 to 01/02/2017, 03:30 (Your Local Time Zone).

Anyone who already has an account can still sign in to their PlayStation™Network profile, play games and use most applications while this maintenance is carried out.

You will not be able to access Account Management, PlayStation Video, and PlayStation Store during this maintenance. We apologise for any inconvenience.

We recommend activating your PS4 as your primary console before maintenance begins so you can continue to play most games and use 3rd party services during maintenance."

If it is scheduled maintenance it looks like Sony has messed up with the dates leaving thousands of PS4 players offline.
