Monthly active users on PlayStation Network reached 123 million as of June 30, 2025, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced during its latest financial results overnight.
The figure is impressive enough on it own, but more so when you consider the fact it represents a seven million increase over the same period last year. As previously reported, Sony announced during the same financial results that the PS5 has now shipped 80.3 million units worldwide since its inception in November 2020.

PlayStation Network originally rolled out in November 2006 alongside the PS3, and provided access to the PlayStation Store as well as online gaming, which at the time was free for users. The service later evolved and has rolled out to all subsequent PlayStation hardware, and in 2010 PlayStation Plus was introduced, offering free monthly games, cloud storage, and access to online multiplayer. Nowadays there’s three tiers to choose from: Essential, Extra, and Premium.
