Ragnarok Odyssey ACE brings new content, Tower of Yggdrasil to PS3 and Vita

Ragnarok Odyssey is among the better RPG experiences you can have on PS Vita; our own Tim Nunes liked its "fun to master" combat but felt rebuked by gameplay repetition. But if you haven’t had the chance to try it for yourself yet, it might pay to wait: Ragnarok Odyssey ACE, an expanded version of the core title, is coming to PS3 and PS Vita early next year.

The details broke on the official PlayStation Blog today, where XSEED Games’ Ryan Graff explained that cross-platform multiplayer will be enabled for the previously only-on-handheld RPG. Both versions will retail for $39.99, while the PS Vita version in particular will feature a couple extra goodies, including a 25-song soundtrack with a special composition by Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu.

Character saves and data will also transfer to ACE, but new players and veterans alike will have to start a new game, as content has been added between versions. One such addition is the 100-story dungeon, the Tower of Yggdrasil. The trophy list has changed, too, so you’ll earn an entirely new set by playing ACE over its progenitor.

Does the promise of new trophies and content put Ragnarok Odyssey ACE on your PS Vita must-have list? Do these action-RPG trappings have you itching for a true Monster Hunter game on the handheld?
