Ratchet & Clank Full Frontal Assault delayed again for PS Vita; includes incentive

Tin Giant today announced the unfortunate news that the PlayStation Vita version of Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will be hit with another delay.

This news isn’t all bad, however, as Tin Giant is including an incentive for waiting a bit longer to take FFA on the go. As initially slated as delayed in November to be released in January, Tin Giant is now pushing the release period to a more vague Spring 2013 time frame. Greg Phillips, Producer at Sony Computer Entertainment America, enclosed this statement

"Our friends at Tin Giant have been working night and day to bring Insomniac’s PS3 game to the PS Vita system and to provide our fans with a great game. While the original delay has helped us make the game better, we still need more time to bring the game up to the standards expected by our fans."

As mentioned before, the news really isn’t all bad. For all fans who have purchased, and will purchase, R&C: FFA will receive a free downloadable version of the PlayStation 2 title Ratchet & Clank: Deadlocked. This bonus pertains to both the digital and disc-based purchases, and Deadlocked will be the PlayStation 3 version of the game and not a PS2 port title which will become available for download when FFA finally launches for the PS Vita.

For those who haven’t dabbled in the Ratchet & Clank franchise, now might be a good time to start, since purchasing the PS3 version of FFA will ultimately yield a free version of Deadlocked and the PS Vita version of FFA–though the trophies for both the PS3 and PS Vita versions are linked into one list–especially since Deadlocked is not included in the highly-sought Ratchet & Clank HD Collection.

It’s great when a developer rewards fans when a game is delayed rather than making fans wait longer than anticipated.
