Razer PS4 controller for the pros launches with dynamic trailer

With the eSports scene in mind, the gaming gear manufacturer worked closely with eSports athletes and Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe to create a tournament-grade controller, complete with a multitude of features.

Utilising Razer’s proprietary Hyperesponse mechanical switch technology, the bumpers, triggers and face buttons are programmable allowing you to change their function with the button remapping tool.

Other features include:

  • 2 shoulder Hyperesponse Multi-Function Bumpers
  • 2 removable Hyperesponse Multi-Function Triggers
  • 4 Hyperesponse mechanical action buttons
  • 4 button Quick Control Panel
  • Optional trigger stop switches for rapid-fire
  • Optional hair trigger mode for ultra-fast responses
  • 3.5 mm audio port for stereo audio output and microphone input
  • In-mold rubber grips
  • 2 optional analog stick rubber grip caps
  • Carrying case
  • Detachable 3 m / 10 ft. lightweight braided cable with Micro-USB connector

The only feature it seems to be missing is wireless connectivity.

Razer Raiju price

The price of the new PS4 controller has been confirmed as £149.99/ EU €169.99 and is available to purchase from the Razer Store or GAME. The controller is not available to buy in North America.

The Razer Raiju release date was December 9, 2016.

Nacon Revolution controller coming soon

The Raiju is in direct competition with the new Nacon Revolution PS4 controller, which is also designed with pro gamers in mind, and features the following:

  • 46 degree amplitude dual analogue sticks, enhanced with innovative firmware for advanced eSports accuracy and reach
  • Four extra shortcut buttons
  • Eight-way directional pad
  • Four custom profiles – all configurable via the companion PC application, enabling players to: re-map buttons, assign macros to the four shortcut controls and adjust analog and trigger sensitivity
  • Two internal compartments with six additional weights – for a tailored balance and feel
  • Compatibility with all PS4 systems via the 3m-long secure connection USB cable – detachable for easy storage

The Nacon Revolution release date has yet to be confirmed, but more details should be revealed soon on the official site.
