Rockstar Games has altered the description of the Steam version of Red Dead Redemption 2, which has prompted speculation that the company is preparing for a PS5 and Xbox Series X/S remaster of the critically acclaimed Wild West title.
As spotted by X user SynthPotato, the description now reads “Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde Gang are outlaws on the run. With federal agents and bounty hunters massing on their heels, the gang must rob, stela, and fight their way cross the rugged heartland in order to survive.”
It’s worth mentioning that the Steam listing for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was changed ahead of the announcement of the remaster, so the assumption here is that we’ll soon be getting a reveal for the Red Dead Redemption 2 Remaster for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Rumours about a remaster for Red Dead Redemption 2 have been doing the rounds for a few years now, and as recently as May it was revealed in a report on GameReactor that a native PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version is indeed in the works. While on the subject of RDR 2, Dan Houser, the co-founder of Rockstar Games, recently named the game as the ‘best thing that I worked on‘ while at the company.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was originally released for PS4 and Xbox One in November 2018.
