Rockstar Games has reportedly abandoned plans to release an enhanced version of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
That’s at least according to insider Tez2, who also reported last week that Rockstar Games has shelved its plans for a Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto 4 remaster. Now, it appears the company is also putting on ice its plans to bring RDR2 to new consoles.https://twitter.com/videotech_/status/1545144786860007425?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1545144786860007425%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.playstationlifestyle.net%2F2022%2F07%2F11%2Fred-dead-redemption-2-ps5-port-cancelled%2F

It’s not great news for Red Dead Redemption fans at this point, especially as Rockstar is also putting the kibosh on major updates for Red Dead Online as it ramps up production of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was released for the PS4 and Xbox One back in October 2018, and back in May it was announced that the game had sold-in 44 million units worldwide. The original Red Dead Redemption came out in 2010 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S and is currently without a release date.
