So, we definitely know that Bioware is working on a new Dragon Age game, but it may not be Dragon Age 4 according to recent comments from the game’s creative director, Mike Laidlaw.
Many gaming sites have ran with the story that Dragon Age 4 is in development, but Laidlaw has denied it in a tweet to an eager fan of the fantasy RPG series.
He confirms that “there is a Dragon Age project happening. It is not confirmed as the fourth main game in the series. Many sites have run with the rumor”.

So, though he doesn’t deny its existence, the tone of the Tweet suggests that maybe the franchise is heading in a new direction, perhaps with a spin-off.
There’s no other details at all about the new Dragon Age project. All we do know is that there’ll be at least another two Dragon Age games released at some point.
The last game in the franchise was Dragon Age: Inquisition, which was released in 2014 to high acclaim among reviews, scoring an average of 89% on Metacritic. In our Dragon Age: Inquisition review we described it as “quite easily the best RPG of the year”.
Recently, it was also rumoured that Bioware may also be planning to release Jade Empire 2, a sequel to the 2005 action- role-playing game set in Imperial China.
