The game completely rebuilds the 1998 survival horror title from the ground-up, replacing the pre-rendered backgrounds of the PSOne original with fully 3D environments and giving the cast a photorealistic makeover.

Set in September 1998, Resident Evil 2 Remake sees Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield arriving in Raccoon City, which has been infested with zombies. The game offers two unique campaigns for each character, although the B scenarios from the 1998 original are nowhere near as comprehensive this time around.
Capcom added a wealth of extra content to the game post-launch, including a number of ‘what if’ chapters known as the Ghost Survivors, where you control characters fated to die in the main campaign such as Robert Kendo and the Mayor’s daughter.
