Capcom has released a new video interview with members of its Resident Evil development team in celebration of the survival horror series’ 20th anniversary.
This time around, we delve into the development behind Resident Evil Revelations and its sequel, hearing from Michiteru Okabe (Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Resident Evil Revelations 2) and Yasuhiro Anpo (Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2) as they discuss how the games took shape.
Check it out below.
Capcom has a number of things in the pipeline for Resident Evil this year, including the spin-off shooter Umbrella Corps, plus high-definition ports of Resident Evil 4 and 5 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Beyond that, the developer is working on a full-fledged remake of 1998’s Resident Evil 2, although nothing has been shown on the project so far besides a logo.
Capcom revealed earlier this month that it has a full-scale assault planned for Resident Evil later in the year, prompting many to speculate that it could be working on Resident Evil 7. Two new unannounced games are due to release by March 31, 2017, one of which is projected to sell four million copies.
Finally, it has been heavily rumored that Resident Evil 7 will be announced at E3 this year and will mark a return to the franchise’s horror-based roots.
