Capcom has 2 major games due by April 2017, but what could they be?

Resident Evil developer Capcom has revealed it has two major unannounced games due to hit stores by April 2017.

Speaking in a presentation overnight, the Japanese publishing giant revealed that in addition to a new Monster Hunter game, it has two further mystery projects in the works. One is expected to shift four million copies while the other is forecast to sell around two million.

Capcom didn’t go into any further details on the titles, other than to say they are expected to be released by the end of its financial year, which wraps March 31, 2017.

Yesterday it was revealed that the company has a ‘large-scale’ Resident Evil title due out in the same time frame, hinting that one of the above mystery projects—likely the one predicted to sell four million units—could be the long-rumored Resident Evil 7.

There’s plenty of other candidates in the running for the other game however, including new entries in the Devil May Cry and Dead Rising franchises, or a new IP altogether. Who knows, maybe we’ll get something unexpected, such as a Dino Crisis or Onimusha revival?

Capcom is also working on a Resident Evil 2 Remake, although the project was only announced last summer so it’s probably still some way off.
